NO vets office today

Update,.... I is so happy I am not going to the vet today!!! I showed mommy those big brown eyes and begged her not to inflict pain on me, you know those big needles, the real sharp pointy things, when they stick you bleed things, you know those things? Mommy said I didn't have to go today but she was making the appointment for next Saturday instead, something about mommy working overtime this morning and daddy having been forced into the prison this afternoon. Mommy will not take both me and Annabelle at the same time, something about us ganging up on her, what us, never, BOL!

I has been away from my blog, except to post blips about my Papa and the new puppy Titan.

So here is a house update for you....

I HAVE TO GO TO THE VET ON SATURDAY!!!

I am not happy about this turn of events...

but momma says it is my yearly checkup and I have to go...

they are gonna take blood and everything, I hate the vets office,

but I has to stay healthy for momma and daddy.

I will go and be strong and take the needle with a puffed out chest

cause I know that's how Papa took all of his, and I no wanna look like a wimp compared to Papa.

Papa update

Papa was sitting up in a chair today and he only has on chest tube left, and that will be taken out today 6/14/09, he is doing so good, momma is excited. He practiced changing his battery again today, he is getting better at it, he will be a pro in no time. He ate most of his lunch and enjoyed the view of the Charles River for most of the morning. He is doing really good sitting up, he has some edema in his legs but that is to be expected.

Papa

Hi everyone, I can happily say PAPA did great. he had his VAD surgery and all went according to plan, and he is recovering well and is already sitting up and eating jello. His breathing tube was removed early this morning and he has not stop talking since, albeit alittle groggy but talking none the less. Dr. Magillivery(surgeon) was in to see him and says he is doing great and looks good, color is pink and lungs are clear.

Hi all things are good here, I am feeling much better, thank you for all your kind words. Mommy was really worried but, I am ok now....I have a story to tell you and I promise to get to it later tonight, please check back....

Hi all....mommy is freaking out!!!! She says she found some blood on the bed and it was coming from me, I feel fine...she thinks a have some blood in my urine, so we are going to have things looked at this morning/afternoon.

We went to visit dad in the hospital on Sunday, and we knew he was in the Cath Lab, because Ellen his RN called to let us know he would not be in his room and that the PA line they placed for surgery had to be removed immediately because It was Heparin coated and dad is allergic to Heparin and it was causing him to go in and out of Ventriculartachycardia. We arrived at MGH about 15 minutes later and called the desk to let them know wewere in thewaiting room, and to let us know when dad was back in his room….about 10 minutes later we hear over the inter come“CODE BLUE CODE BLUE IN THE CATH LAB” we panic, Dad is in the Cath Lab! I call the nurses desk and I am told that they don’t know anything yet and as soon as they do, they will get in touch with me, about 20 minutes of sheer panic and stress goes by and we see ELLEN walking in saying it was NOT dad, she reassures me he is fine and she spoke with him, he is ok.

He gets back to his room about 2 hours later and I cry out of fear, I finally BROKE! He is in good spirits and doing well, being sarcastic and cracking jokes. I walk out of there held up by Brian as I have nothing left, I am emotionally, physically and literally EXHAUSTED, 65 days of living on the edge, now we continue to wait for a new heart and hope one arrives soon….

Riley and Annabelle

Hello all, I scare mommy today. She came home from work and daddy told her I was sick on the floor, not a lot, I just needed to get some stuff out of my belly, so I did. Mommy doesn’t like it when I am sick; she gets scared because I am no spring chicken, I almost 10. So mommy is worried and tells daddy to stay home with me while she goes and visits papa. I hear this and I am like, NO! Daddy has to go with you, papa likes seeing him too, so I start acting all healthy and stuff, running around the house and bringing mommy a shoe (I do this every time they come in the door, I have to bring them a shoe) So they decide I am ok, and they both go off to Boston to see papa. While at home, I really do feel better, I sleep, I munch on some kibble and I drink my water, ahh the life of Riley, hee hee that’s me, Riley. Mommy and daddy come home and are happy to see I am felling better, mommy is relieved and daddy is well vacuuming, whatever dude? He loves me, I know he does, he just gave me a hug, some kisses and off he went to his beloved vacuum…BTW mommy is NOT allowed to touch the vacuum, but I got away from myself, where was I again??? Oh yeah, mommy was relieved I was feeling better and we snuggled in bed together all afternoon. I love it when mommy works all night, we get to snuggle all day, BARRROOOO!

Quick update on Papa

We thought we had a heart on Friday night and we did up until a minute before surgery, when they called it off due to a bad donor heart, it would not hold a rhytham once it got back to Boston, the doctors and the balloon pump guy both said they made the right decision by not transplanting, it was a bad heart. We see him back in his room on Saturday afternoon and he is doing well and in good spirits and understands the need to call off the surgery. We went to visit him on Sunday and his nurse called to tell us he was in the Cath Lab and would be back in his room around 1pm. We arrive and wait in the waiting room only to hear CODE BLUE CODE BLUE in the CATH LAB. Can you say PANIC? We were not the only ones panicking, the whole floor was, everyone thought it was dad. They sent a nurse running down to see what was going on, she came into the waiting room about 20 minutes later to tell us it was NOT dad and she had spoken to him and reassured us he was fine. STRESSFUL 20 MINUTES!!!!!! I finally saw dad 2 hours later and just cried, I broke, that was it, he was ok…dad was ok. He is still ok and waiting for a new heart, we will get one, I know we will..this time it will be the RIGHT HEART!****
